EDUCATOR & FACILITATOR
As co-founder and director of Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound and other activities, Lewis Henry Cook works as an educator and facilitator across electronic music, sound practice and collaborative composition. His teaching approach is informed by community learning and his work as a qualified yoga teacher, integrating attention to listening, embodiment, rhythm, breath, repetition and collective awareness into the learning process.
Rather than treating music education as purely technical training, Cook’s projects explore how sound, movement, perception and group dynamics interact. Workshops often emphasise deep listening, improvisation, shared responsibility within ensembles and the relationship between physical presence and electronic sound-making.
As a neurodivergent artist, Cook brings both lived experience and practical facilitation knowledge to his work. His teaching frequently centres accessibility, flexible learning structures and supportive group dynamics, recognising that different modes of perception and engagement can be creative strengths rather than barriers.
This approach draws on experimental music traditions, somatic practices and inclusive education principles, positioning music education as a space for exploration, reflection and collective experience.
Programme Development & Teaching
Cook has developed and led a range of electronic music education programmes across studio, community and institutional contexts. In each case he has acted as lead facilitator and programme designer, shaping both curriculum and delivery.

Sonic Youth Project Module (Green Door Studio)

Accessibility & Inclusive Practice
Cook worked for several years as a creative facilitator with the charity Musicall, supporting neurodivergent young people and participants with additional needs through music-making.
Alongside this role, he has led workshops specifically designed for neurodivergent participants, developing teaching approaches that prioritise flexibility, sensory awareness, collaborative pacing and participant-led exploration.
This experience informs his broader educational practice, shaping how workshops are structured, how groups are supported and how learning environments are designed.
